Who we are. The Convention is an independent international research and media platform. We publish analysis of international affairs, security, human rights and public policy. The Convention is currently funded by its founders. No government, political party or advertiser influences our content.
What we publish. Every piece is labelled by type. Analysis and Features are reported or researched pieces. Opinion and Essays reflect the author’s views, not those of The Convention. Editorials state the view of The Convention. Student Perspectives publishes work by students and early-career researchers.
Accuracy and sourcing. We check claims against primary sources such as official documents, data and court records, and against reputable reporting, and we link to them. We attribute contested claims to their source, distinguish fact from allegation, and date time-sensitive information.
Fairness. Our analysis considers opposing arguments. Where we criticise a person or organisation, we try to give them the chance to respond. We do not publish content that incites violence or hatred.
Conflicts of interest. Contributors must disclose relevant affiliations, and we publish the disclosure. The founder leads RISE Balochistan, and we will state this wherever it is relevant. Any sponsored content will be clearly labelled.
Contributors. All submissions go through editorial review. We may edit for clarity, accuracy, attribution and house style, and authors see the edited version before publication. We do not charge or pay contributors. Contributors under 18 must be at least 16 and need written parent or guardian consent. We publish only the details they approve, and consent forms are kept privately.
Use of AI. AI tools may support research, translation or editing. Authors must disclose AI assistance, and a human editor checks every fact, quote and citation. Where AI materially shaped a text we say so. AI-generated illustrations are labelled, and we do not use AI images to depict real people as though they were photographs.
Images and copyright. We use original, licensed or AI-generated images and credit sources. We remove any image on a valid request.
Corrections. We correct errors promptly. Minor errors such as typos are fixed quietly. Substantive errors are corrected with a dated note on the page, and we do not change the record silently. If a piece is materially misleading, we may withdraw it with an explanation. Developing stories show an “Updated” date. To report an error, email editor@theconventionmedia.org with the article link and what needs correcting, and we aim to reply within three working days.
